Hi! I’m Meghan, your trainer.

I am a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner (KPA CTP).

Karen Pryor Academy is an intensive and widely respected program which provides a thorough education in science-based dog training. As a KPA CTP, I have passed rigorous assessments, and have signed a pledge that I will only use science-based, force-free training methods. This means I will never use pain, fear, or intimidation to train your dog.

I am also a graduate of the KPA Puppy Start Right course! This means I am educated in puppy socialization, stages of canine development, and in solving common problems puppy owners may encounter.

My mission is to help you better enjoy and understand your dog.

Dogs can bring us so much joy, especially if we know how to communicate clearly with them. It’s my goal to help you learn how to bring out the best in your dog, so you can enjoy your time together as much as possible. I use positive reinforcement training methods which are fun for you and your dog — not to mention highly effective!

Testimonials

“I have been working with Meghan with my young pitbull Sally. Sally has learned so much! I presented Meghan with the behaviors that I needed help with and she very calmly and supportively would give me coaching and feedback. I highly recommend Meghan as a trainer, you won’t be disappointed!”

— Mary F.

“Meghan helped to make the training process easy and fun! I didn't really know much about clicker training before but I'll certainly continue to utilize it in the future. I've never seen my pet pick up on cues so quickly!”

— Joanne C.

“Meghan makes it so easy to work with your dog, with clear explanations and breaking everything down into simple steps. Most importantly, it's easy to see how much she cares about making your dog happy!”

— Kelly W.

Meet my dogs

  • Evelyn

    Whippet

Evelyn was my intrepid training partner throughout Karen Pryor Academy. She is a clever girl who keeps me on my toes! Together we have explored agility and other dog sports, and in the future hope to do lots more.

  • Florence

    Whippet

Florence was born on St. Patrick’s Day in 2024. She has been a delight to raise, and picks up on new things very quickly. I hope to try lots of fun training games with her as she gets older, like agility and rally! You may see both Florence and Evelyn in training demo videos.

  • Hazel

    Retired Racing Greyhound

Hazel was the first dog I ever attended training classes with, over a decade ago. She showed me how much fun positive reinforcement training could be, and we had over 11 years of adventures together. She lived to be 13. I’m so glad I was lucky enough to have her in my life.
